Sun protection is more important than ever, but it’s possible that your (lighter) extensions may not react well to certain products. Because we truly care about helping you enjoy your Zascha Hair for as long as possible, we’ve done extensive research to find out which products are safe to use and help prevent discoloration!

Why are my extensions turning orange/pink?

Sunscreen gets its protective power from UV filters. However, certain UV filters can react with human hair extensions. This reaction may cause the hair to turn pink or orange when it comes into contact with these ingredients. Super frustrating, of course — you want to be able to apply sunscreen to your neck and ears with peace of mind. The photo next to this text clearly shows what can happen when using the wrong UV spray.

Which UV filters are safe, and which ones should you avoid?

Tests have shown that mineral sunscreens/UV filters are always a safe choice. Some non-mineral UV filters are also suitable.
This might make things a bit confusing — but don’t worry, we’ve found a little trick to help you out:

Want to be sure you’ve got the right product, or curious to check your favorite brand?
Take a photo of the ingredient list on the back of the product and send it to ChatGPT with the following question:

“Can I use this sunscreen with my (colored) 100% human hair extensions without them turning orange or pink? → (link to product or photo)”

Mineral UV filters have a positive effect:

A mineral filter helps prevent discoloration of the hair caused by sunscreen. We’ll come back to discoloration caused by chlorine later in the blog.

The best ones from all the tests:

These sunscreens have been tested by Marlieke, and are highly recommended by us!

1: Kruidvat- Solait Natural 30 SPF 2: Naïf Zonnebrand Spray SPF30 100 ML 3: SeventyOne Eco Sun Spray SPF50+ 4: Ultrasun Face Zonnebrandlotion SPF30

The Solait Natural is available at Kruidvat stores and is suitable for the face and neck, just like UltraSun Face, which is available at Holland & Barrett.

SeventyOne Eco Sun Spray (also available at Holland & Barrett) and Naïf Sunscreen Spray SPF30 100ML are both suitable for the body.

With these products, your sun protection is all set! ☀️ However, we always recommend being extra careful with things like chlorine and salt water too.
We share lots of helpful tips about this in our summer blog.
Just curious how we recommend washing your extensions?

Accidentally ended up with some discoloration? No stress!

Fortunately, we’ve also found a solution for when things do go wrong: Malibu C Hard Water

How to use:

  • Mix the Malibu C powder in a small bowl with water. The less water you use, the more concentrated the product will be.
  • Apply the product to towel-dried hair and gently work the crystals into the hair.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly and follow up with your usual hair care routine.

Are you more of a visual learner? In this Instagram link, Marlieke shows how she removes the warm tones from her extensions. Malibu C is available at professional hair supply stores or via the button below.

How do I keep my extensions looking beautiful during summer?

A detailed explanation about sun, chlorine, and salt water can be found in our summer blog, available via the button below.

But the real question is, of course: what happened to the lady in the first photo?

Luckily, she was able to use Malibu C during her holiday — and the results speak for themselves! She’s back to shining bright in Bali. All’s well that ends well! ✨🌴

What is an invisible clip-in?

These high-end clip-in extensions with an ultra-thin base are made from 100% Indian Human Hair and are of double drawn quality. This means there are very few shorter hairs in the set, resulting in beautifully full ends.

The hairs are injected into a silicone base at the top and have a seamless finish. Unlike the Classic clip-ins, the Invisible clip-ins do not have a lace border. The base of the Invisible clip-ins is flexible, making them comfortable and very lightweight to wear.

The wefts in the sets have the following measurements (width): 1x 20cm (8″), 2x 15cm (6″), 2x 10cm (4″), and 2x 3.5cm (1,5″).
With your Zascha Hair order, one weft is packaged separately. You may take this weft out of the packaging to assess the color, length, and quality.
If the color or length is not exactly what you were hoping for and the hygiene seal is still intact, returning your order is no problem, of course.

What is the difference between the Invisible clip-in and the Classic clip-in?

Invisible clip-in set -> Classic clip-in set

As you can see in the photos, the difference between the two is subtle — but just enough to make a visible impact once applied!
The Invisible Clip-in set features an ultra-thin and flexible base that blends seamlessly with your own hair.
The Classic Clip-in set also offers a flexible base, but with a slightly fuller feel. If you naturally have more hair, the Classic set is a perfect choice, adding just a touch of extra volume — especially when paired with a bit of teasing, which we highly recommend for the best result.

If you have finer hair or love styling your hair up, the Invisible Clip-in will be your new secret best friend — lightweight, discreet, and beautifully natural.

Perks

As mentioned above:

* The Invisible weft is perfect for anyone with finer hair. Thanks to its ultra-flat design, it blends effortlessly and looks more like a natural parting than a traditional clip-in extension.

* The base is easy to dye, allowing for a flawless 100% color match — ideal for those with thinner hair, where a natural-looking parting is key. * Because of its sleek and flexible base, it’s perfect for creating updos. You can even apply the wefts upside down to easily achieve a high ponytail or bun with your clip-in set — stylish and secure in seconds!

Care

Both the Invisible Clip-in and Classic Clip-in extensions are made from the same quality human hair. You can curl, straighten, and wash them just like your own hair!
Curious about how to keep them looking gorgeous? We’ve put together a full blog with all our best tips and tricks — you can find it here!

A little tip: when styling with heat, make sure to avoid the base of the extensions. If the temperature gets too high, it could cause damage to the bond.

Also good to know: just like our Classic extensions, the Invisible ones are a bit more sensitive to keratin-based products and can absorb pigments from color shampoos more quickly.
Need more advice on how to use color shampoos safely? We’re happy to share all our insider tips with you! ✨

In conclusion:

When you think of extensions, you often imagine meters of (intensely blonde) hair. But we’re here for everyone — including those who love a natural look! We truly hope you’ll find the Invisible wefts just as much of a game-changer as we do :)!

We’re incredibly excited to hear what you think of our Invisible Clip-in extensions!

Flipper-the-flap FLOOP! Full hair with length extension—yes, really, that’s how easy the Flip-in is to use! This product is the perfect solution for ladies who are prone to headaches or just always in a hurry. 😉

In this blog, we’ll tell you all about: What is a flip-in, How to apply a flip-in, The benefits of a flip-in, How to take care of your flip-in.

What is a flip-in?

The Flip-in (also known as Halo Hair) is a product that can be secured in two ways:

  • With an adjustable wire + 5 clips.
  • With the 5 clips only.

The wire is completely invisible, comfortable to wear, and does not damage your own hair.

This product looks the most natural on hair with layers or thin ends. For these hair types, it adds both volume and length. If you don’t have layers and/or have thick, blunt ends, the Flip-in can only be used to add volume at your natural length, but not for length extension.

Our Flip-ins are made from 100% Indian Human Hair and are of double drawn quality. This means that very few shorter hairs are included, giving the Flip-ins beautifully full ends. As a result, the Flip-in extensions blend perfectly with your natural hair!

How to place my flip-in?

Like everything in life, the first time might feel a bit unfamiliar. But don’t worry—we’ll guide you step by step to make it as easy as possible!

Step 1: Use a tail comb or your fingers to create an oval-shaped section from your parting on top, all the way around your head. Clip up the top layer of your hair (the hair that will cover the Flip-in) securely. You can do this with our Zascha Croc Clip. Step 2: Place the Flip-in over the oval section and check how much you need to adjust the wire to achieve the perfect fit. Do not clip anything in place just yet.

Step 3: Once the wire length is adjusted to your preference, use pliers to firmly clamp the bead shut. Make sure to leave a bit of extra wire at the end and squeeze it tightly. Want to be sure you have the right pliers? Order our special Microring Pliers. Step 4: Trim the excess wire as short as possible. Step 5: Comb or brush your natural hair over the wire to make it completely invisible. Important: Only brush to the sides of your head—brushing backward may cause the Flip-in to come loose. Step 6: Once the Flip-in feels comfortable, secure the clips, and you’re all set to shine! ✨

Do you have slightly smooth hair? You can apply a bit of volume powder or dry shampoo where the clips will be placed for extra grip. Want to be 100% sure it stays in place? For example, during photoshoots, weddings, or festivals, you can lightly tease the area where the clips are attached.

After and before Flip-in Rooted Hazel Caramel 50cm/140g

Ineke shows you how she places her flip-in, in this video.

Which Flip-in do we offer?

All Flip-ins come with extra wires and micro beads separately packaged, so you always have enough to remove and adjust them as needed!

In our collection, we offer:

Flip-in 40cm (16″) / 120g – Typically reaches about bra strap length. Flip-in 50cm (20″) / 140g – Typically reaches about your lower rib.

See examples below:

Flip-in Rooted Hazel Caramel 40cm (16″) / 120g
Flip-in Rooted Hazel Caramel 50cm (20″) / 140g

This product is also super easy to combine with:

The V-part is perfect to combine with a Flip-in for Hollywood-level volume. Since the V-part is placed a bit higher, it falls slightly shorter.

If you have the 40cm Flip-in, the 50cm V-part is a great match. If you have the 50cm Flip-in, the 60cm V-part is a great addition.

Flip-in 50cm (20″) / 140g
Flip-in 50cm (20″) / 140g + V-part 60cm (24″) / 120g

What is the difference between a volumizer and a flip-in?

The biggest difference between the Flip-in and the Volumizer is the weight and attachment method.

  • The 40cm Volumizer weighs 50g.
  • The 50cm Volumizer weighs 60g.

The Flip-in is much fuller, making it suitable for both volume and length extension.

Since both the Flip-in and the Volumizer are wider wefts, they are less suitable if you like to wear your hair up. In that case, a clip-in set would be the better choice.

A huge advantage of the Flip-in is that it can be placed super quickly and, when placed correctly, stays securely in place while remaining completely invisible!

How do I take care of my flip-in?

The flip-in and clip-in extensions are of the same quality. You can curl, straighten, and wash them. This link contains our blog with various tips and tricks on washing them. However, keep in mind that flip-in extensions also react to keratin products and can absorb color from shampoos more quickly. Want more tips on color shampoos?

Good to know: You may take the Flip-in out of the packaging to assess the color, length, and quality. If the color or length isn’t quite what you expected and the tag is still attached, returning it is no problem at all. However, please make sure that the wire and micro rings are also in new condition.

Are you so in love with your Zascha clip-ins that you never want to take them out? Or are you just curious about the difference between clip-in extensions and weaves? Then you’re in the right place! Keep reading:

What is a Weave/Secret Weft?

A Secret Weft/weave is designed to be worn permanently in your hair. Our weave/weft is a single long strip approximately 65 cm (26″) wide. The 40 cm (16″) Secret Weft weighs 30 grams, while the 50 cm (20″) weft weighs 40 grams. Thanks to the extremely flat base, they offer the benefits of hand-tied wefts (super thin) without the downsides—you can easily cut them to size! Unlike standard (machine) wefts, our wefts have no fold-over (a flipped edge of hair), making them invisible and incredibly comfortable to wear. Additionally, our Secret Wefts are made from the highest quality hair with the fullest ends available on the market. This means you need less hair to achieve more volume.

What exactly is the difference between the clip-ins and the weaves?

The weaves are more expensive because the processing involves more intricate details. The following factors are important in this process:

1. The type of hair. For our weaves, we use Cuticle Indian Hair. This hair has a similar texture to European hair and is donated in temples in India. Before it is donated and before we color it to the desired shade, the hair has never been dyed or chemically treated. For our weaves, we select only the highest quality donor hair.

2. The processing The treatment and coloring process of the hair is done in a special, gentle way. Once the hair has gone through our mild coloring process, we call it cuticle hair. This hair is of even higher quality than remy hair because the cuticles remain intact during the process. As a result, the lifespan is longer than that of remy hair, lasting at least 8-12 months and, in some cases, even over a year.

3. Keep it natural No silicones are used in the hair. This is different from our clip-ins, which do contain silicones. Clip-ins have a silicone coating to keep the hair looking beautiful for longer, but this coating gradually wears off with washing and wear.

4. The origin And last but not least: the hair for our weaves comes from young donors (men and women up to 25 years old). If you’d like to learn more about the origin of Zascha Hair, you can do so via the button below.

How many wefts do I need?

This depends a lot on the thickness and style of your own hair. In most cases, you’ll need about 100 to 200 grams for a length extension. If you’re only looking to add extra volume, one pack in your own length is usually enough! Not sure what you need? Feel free to send us a message with a photo so we can help you choose the right amount. This blog includes tips and tricks for taking a good consultation photo. You can also see our products in real life by placing an order. If it turns out not to be exactly what you’re looking for and the product meets our return conditions, you can send it back, and we will refund your purchase amount.

Colors to dye for

We have a wide range of weave colors, and we’re constantly working behind the scenes to keep them as up-to-date as possible. However, if you’d prefer to dye your weave darker, that’s absolutely possible! Lightening the hair is not recommended. For the best results and minimal damage to the weave, it’s best to use a semi-permanent dye or a mild hair color. If you’re unsure, you can always visit a hairdresser or beauty supply store for advice. Keep in mind that once dyed, the extensions cannot be bleached if something goes wrong—so better safe than sorry!

How long do weaves last?

With proper care (see this blog) and correct placement, your weaves will last at least 8 to 12 months. We always recommend having your weaves installed by a hairdresser with experience in extensions. This ensures that your extensions stay in the best condition and you get the most out of them. Plus, if anything isn’t quite as expected, you can rely on our 2-month warranty. We already have several salons that use our Secret Weaves. Curious to know which ones? Feel free to send us a message! 😊

At Zascha Hair, it’s all about beautiful hair products, and we hope to make the world a little bit more beautiful too. From people to the planet. Without you even knowing it, your old or used hair is of priceless value! And while you may consider your worn hair as waste, we’re proud to work with Matter of Trust, an organization that uses donated hair for environmentally friendly solutions.

What happens with your hair?

Matter of Trust turns collected hair into so-called “hair mats.” These mats are used to filter oil from water, such as during oil spill cleanups in oceans and rivers. Hair naturally has the ability to absorb oil, making it a sustainable alternative to chemical solutions. So, you could say that your old extensions not only get a new life but also contribute to a cleaner planet. Curious about how Matter of Trust processes the hair?

How does it work?

May we use your used set/product for this? Send us a message letting us know that you’d like to donate your hair. We will then send you a label so you can send your used or old extensions to us free of charge via PostNL. Once we receive the extensions, we will prepare them and ensure they reach Matter of Trust. This way, you give your hair a second life and contribute to a cleaner world. A small effort, with a big impact! As a thank you, you’ll receive free shipping with the purchase of a new product!

Why this charity?

At Zascha Hair, we believe in quality and care – not just for our customers, but also for the world around us. The idea that hair, a product we use every day, can do so much more than just look beautiful, inspires us greatly. Together, we not only make our customers happy but also make the planet a little bit better.

Do you have old extensions lying around? Send them to us, and we’ll take care of the rest! Because at Zascha Hair, it’s about more than just hair.

Just like with clip-ins, it’s important to properly maintain the hair so you can enjoy it as long as possible. After all, it’s quite an investment! We recommend using mild, nourishing, high-quality products.

Which products do you recommend?

The ERA TUA Fresh Linen Daily Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner are perfect for weaves as well as your own hair! These products hydrate and nourish your extensions, leaving them soft and healthy-looking.

Do you use a lot of styling tools/heat on your darker weaves? Then the ERA TUA Repairing Structure is highly recommended. If you frequently use heat on your lighter weaves, the Color Protection is a great option.

Of course, there are as many preferences as there are people. If there’s another product you prefer that has a nourishing base, it’s certainly suitable as well.

How to wash your wefts

  1. Apply the shampoo throughout the hair (including the roots/attachment points of the wefts) and gently massage it in.
  2. Rinse the hair thoroughly, especially around the attachment points of the wefts, to ensure no shampoo residue is left behind.
  3. Lift the wefts slightly so you can rinse well underneath them.
  4. Next, apply the nourishing conditioner to the lengths and ends of your hair, leave it in for at least 2 minutes.

Do your extensions need some extra love? Leave the ERA TUA conditioner on for a little while longer to use it as a mask!

Always use a heat protectant (recommended: the Alterna Dry Oil Mist) when using styling tools. The weaves can be blow-dried, but always try to blow-dry the hair downwards to prevent damage to the hair cuticles.

More importantly: which products do you recommend avoiding?

We advise against using products that contain keratin, as they can make the extensions heavy and stringy. We also notice that Olaplex doesn’t always work well. With this product, extensions can sometimes feel different than expected. This is especially noticeable with clip-ins. Due to some uncertainty, we prefer to avoid this product. 🙂

Due to the gentle processing the hair has undergone, it is slightly more delicate. When using styling tools or heat sources, you may notice that the color can warm up slightly. This is completely normal and can be corrected with a purple shampoo. If you do this, we recommend reading the blog carefully to prevent the color from shifting too much.

SPF and Malibu C

It’s also advisable to be cautious with SPF or foundation that adjusts to your skin tone. When your extensions come into contact with these products (for example, around the neck or collarbone), a warm tint may develop. This is clearly visible in the photo on the right.

If this happens by accident, don’t panic. Malibu C is here to the rescue! This link contains a tutorial on how to achieve the results shown in the left photo.

Malibu what?

Malibu C! This small packet removes unwanted colors from your extensions. It can be used for: Over-processed silver shampoo and stains from sunscreen, as described above. Malibu C will not alter the color (which is great). However, it can make the extensions feel a bit rough immediately after rinsing. If you use a nourishing product afterward (such as Daily Moisture by ERA TUA), your extensions will feel as good as new!

Another good tip:

Braid your hair before going to bed. This helps prevent damage from friction. True beauty queens even use a “silk bonnet” or the “heatless curls method” while sleeping. But of course, you should do what feels most comfortable for you.

We hope we’ve provided you with all the information you need about washing and caring for the Secret Wefts. If you have any questions or if something is unclear, feel free to send us a chat message or an email at info@zascha.nl. Of course, you can also contact us via Facebook or send us a WhatsApp at 085-2250281.

We have had the bangs in our assortment before, but if you’ve been following us for a while, you know that we strive for perfection, and this product is no exception 🙂 Behold our revamped clip-in fringe! Woohoo!

What’s new?

This clip-in fringe is also made of 100% remy human hair and has 3 clips to securely attach it in your desired position. The revamped part lies in the hand-knotted base, which is practically invisible when placed against your own root. Since the hair is 100% human hair, it can be dyed darker to seamlessly match your natural roots. However, please note that dyeing the hair lighter is not possible. If you’re unsure, you can test the dye on a sample. The colors are equal to our hair extension sets. The fringe is already styled in a certain way, but there is enough hair to customize it to your preference or have it trimmed to frame your face. 💜

How do you place it?

Easy breezy: ✩ Place it on your head to see where you want to secure it. ✩ Open the 3 clips and snap them shut when it’s in the desired spot and has a good grip. When you’re completely in love with the fringe, and you’re sure you want to keep it, you can of course remove the plastic hygiene piece from between the clips! ✩ Style! For the best effect, you can trim it to your liking. Tip of the day! Get your fringe trimmed by a hairdresser or someone who has a degree in hair. From experience, we know that your own hair is often dangerously close, and it’s hard to distinguish from the fringe. Before you know it, you’ll have a fringe in your own hair… oops.

Do you have naturally smooth hair, or does the fringe not stay in place perfectly? Then you can apply a bit of dry shampoo or volumizing powder to the area where the clips are placed; this provides some extra grip. Are you going to a festival or planning to dance like no one is watching? Tease the roots a little, and your fringe won’t budge at all!

How do you take care of your fringe?

Since the fringe is also made of 100% human hair, you can wash it as described in this blog. If you wear the fringe frequently, we recommend washing it a bit more often. Other than that, you can treat it just like your own hair!

Combining is a skill you can learn!

Yes, indeed! The Fringe can be combined with our: sets, flip ins, volumizers, ponytails and even our V-part. It might take a bit of practice to figure out exactly where to place everything, but combining these two products will create a completely new look that will hopefully boost your confidence!

Both products are placed on the top of your head, allowing you to fully conceal any thinning spots. However, it’s important to have enough hair to attach the products to. Are you unsure if this will work for you? Don’t hesitate to send us a photo of your hair roots at info@zascha.nl. This way, we can assess whether this trick will work for you too!

Because the roots of your hair often have a lot of diverse colors, there are many tricks to make the fringe blend as perfectly as possible. We also have a variety of mixed colors which also helps:) Here are some additional tips to make it blend as seamlessly as possible:

  1. If the fringe is just slightly too light, you can wash it with a color shampoo or color mask from brands like Kruidvat or Etos.
  2. If your fringe is slightly too warm compared to the rest of your hair color, you can also wash it with purple shampoo. You can read how to do this in this blog.
  3. Missing a darker root in your fringe? Try a root spray! You can also find this at Kruidvat or Etos.

If you’re not entirely sure which color is the perfect match for you, feel free to ask us for help anytime. Don’t hesitate to send a chat message or an email. Of course, you can also reach out to us on Facebook or WhatsApp at 085-2250281. We’d love to help!

Don’t forget to tag us in your transformation!

Big hair is never out of fashion! This is something Lily CollinsAdele and of course Ariana Grande (and many many many more) proof by bringing back the BIG ponytail from the 60’s. This look is a little more difficult to create with your clip-in set, or volumizer. Because, how do you make sure you won’t see any clips with this hairdo, and how will you get that full glam ponytail? This is where the clip-in ponytail comes into play! Sit back and relax, because in this blog we explain everything you need to know about the ponytail step by step:).

What is a clip-in ponytail?

The Zascha Hair Ponytail is a 100 gram full ponytail and is 50cm (20″) long. Attached to this piece is a pin with wide teeth, which ensures that the ponytail stays securely in place. The ponytail also has a loose strand of hair for a beautiful finish at the root. You simply place the ponytail over your own ponytail, making it super easy to install! The ponytail is suitable for thin to normal hair.

What is the Ponytail made of?

Just like our clip in extensions, the ponytail is made from 100% double drawn human hair. This means the tail is full from root to ends. Because the ponytail is made of real human hair you can consider it as your own hair. You can style it, curl it, wash it, and even dye it darker. The roots of the ponytail are finished with high quality lace, and a metal pin with wide teeth for lots of hold in your own hair without damaging it.

The top edge of the ponytail is finished with velcro. Super convenient, so you can adjust the tail to different thicknesses of hair! We also use multi-tone coloring, which ensures a nice match with your own hair color, even if it differs slightly from the extensions. On the picture you see the Melted Blonde Ponytail.

How to use

Here we go. You’re all set, you’ve styled the ponytail as desired, and you’re ready to place it. What do you need: A Zascha Hair ponytail (duh), some bobbypins, elastics, preferably non-plastic, and a product for some firmness in your hair.Placing the ponytail is relatively easy, just like the clip ins, you just need to get the hang of it. Whatever hair type you have, it is important that you make sure you make a good firm ponytail with your own hair first. This can be done in different ways:

1 You can apply mousse in your hair and blow dry it well. This is a good method if you’re making a low ponytail. 2 You can tease the roots of your hair. You can use volume powder. 4 You can use multiple rubber bands (no more than 3)

It depends on the method you personally find comfortable for your hair type. After that, you can style your ponytail as desired to make it blend nicely with the texture of your hair. Once you’re completely satisfied with your ponytail, you can secure it.-Unfold the ponytail and slide the teeth of the hairpin between your scalp and the elastic. Make sure the teeth are fully inserted. -Then, tightly wrap the Velcro around your ponytail. -Next, wrap the loose strand around your ponytail. You can secure this loose strand with one or two bobbypins underneath the ponytail. The only thing left to do now is to check if everything is to your liking and finish it off with some hairspray if desired.

Inspiration

You can style the ponytail in various ways. High, low, single tail, double tails, straight, curled, messy – the possibilities are endless! Below, we will provide a brief explanation of the most popular ways to wear it.

The low ponytail

Important for this hairstyle is to have enough support in your hair to create volume at the roots. You can achieve this by using dry shampoo, volumizing powder, or teasing.1: Start by teasing the crown of your hair at the center of your head. 2: Work your way down and create a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. If needed, gently brush the hair to smooth it out and avoid frizz. 3: Secure the ponytail using the above-mentioned instructions. 4: Curl the ponytail and your own hair as desired, including your front pieces (face framing). (You can also curl before placing the ponytail, whichever you prefer). 5: Spray a small amount of hairspray to ensure your hair shines all day long!

The high ponytail

This beautiful look was created by Sandra Bierens & Chantal van Dalen. It is also very important here, that you have created enough firmness and grip in your hair, for example, by using mousse.

  1. Separate the hair in 2 sections and create a ponytail on your crown with the bottom section.
  2. Take the top section of your hair, make sure it is tight and smooth at the front, and tie it together with the ponytail you have created from the bottom section. Use a second hair elastic for this.
  3. Place the ponytail as mentioned above.
  4. By using a (special) comb or toothbrush, you can style the baby hairs around your hairline as desired. Use a gentle wax or gel for this.
  5. Straighten the ponytail as well as your own hair.
  6. Use a hairspray to set in place for the rest of the day.

Are you more of a visual person? In the video below, Sabrina Dijkman demonstrates how to easily create a low ponytail.

Taking care of your ponytail

Because the ponytails are made of the same quality as our clip-ins, we recommend caring for them in the same way. This blog provides many tips, tricks, and a detailed explanation.

Help with choice

Hopefully we have been able to get you excited so you are eager to order a ponytail. Important when choosing the right color is that the ponytail matches the area where you want to place it. If you plan on wearing it higher on your head, you should look at the color of the roots of your hair.Of course you can always ask for help if you can’t really figure it out by yourself. Feel free to send us a chat massage or an email to info@zascha.nl. Of course you can also contact us through Facebook or send us a whatsapp at 085-2250281! We’d love to help!

Because Zascha Hair extensions are made of 100% real human hair, you can treat it like your own hair. You can wash (preferably not too often), curl & straighten them and even dye them darker. In this blog we’ll share all the ins and outs about straightening and curling your clip-in extensions! You can also use these methods on our other products such as the Ponytail, V-part and Bun. In most cases it’s easier to place the product first and style as desired after.

Straightening your clip-in extensions

When you first wash your extensions, you might think, ‘Hmm, that looks different.’ Don’t worry! With a few handy tricks, you can have your set looking just like you would expect from us. Before styling, apply a few drops of oil/heat protector to the ends and let them air dry, for example on a clothes hanger. Be careful not to use too much oil as it can weigh down the hair, making it difficult to style. One product we are absolutely obsessed with is the Alterna Dry Oil Mist. It’s a heat protector that adds extra shine without weighing down the hair.

Set your styling tool (curling iron or straightener) to a maximum of 220 degrees Celsius. The hotter your styling tool is, the more it damages your hair and shortens the lifespan of your set. Even worse, it can damage your natural hair! While waiting for the styling tool to heat up, apply a heat-protective spray on the entire set, from roots to ends. For the best result, work on one section at a time. Take a section of about 3 to 5 cm and comb it through thoroughly. Place the straightener at the roots and slowly, in one smooth motion, glide it downward. Repeat if necessary until the entire set is nicely straightened. Then, style your own hair as well to blend it seamlessly with the extensions and create a beautiful finish. Result: Zascha Hair extensions, gorgeous, shiny, and healthy locks!

Curling your 100% human hair clip-in extensions

There are just as many different types of curls as there are people. By using various curling irons, you can create different types of curls.

Which curling iron do I need?

The larger the diameter of the curling iron, the looser the curl. If you desire Beach Waves (a curl that is highly suitable for long extensions), it’s best to use a curling iron with a 32mm (1 1/4″ barrel). The thicker the hair section, the bigger the curl. Good to know: Large and loose curls may have a tendency to drop faster.

The curling iron we use most often is the 25mm (1″) one. With this curling iron, you can create most types of curls and also manipulate the curls effectively while ensuring they hold well. This iron produces a medium-sized curl.

If you have natural, small curls or if you want to create them for a special occasion, the 19mm (3/4″) curling iron is excellent for achieving that look.

Okay, but how do you achieve the perfect curl that stays in place for a long time without losing its bounce, regardless of which curling iron you use? We’ll explain it to you!

Curling before placing

You can also curl your extensions before placing them. It’s super convenient if you don’t have much time in the morning and can do it the night before. (This is also very suitable for people who already have natural curls.) It’s best to curl the clip-in extensions while they are hanging. You can do this, for example, using a clothes hanger. Use a heat protector and take sections of about 2 to 3 cm, combing them through thoroughly. Start curling at the roots of the hair and wrap the rest of the weft around the curling iron. Leave it on for 5 to 10 seconds, depending on the thickness of the weft. You can gently touch the curl with your finger to check if it’s getting warm, but be careful not to burn yourself!

Then slide the curl off the curling iron and catch it with your hand to let it cool down for a moment. You can then secure it with a bobby pin or clip. This allows the curl to cool down without immediately losing its shape (just like on your own head!).

Repeat this process with all the wefts. Once all the wefts have cooled down, carefully remove the bobby pins or clips. And there you have it, a perfect curl with long-lasting bounce! Once you’ve removed all the clips from your set, you can gently start placing your extensions. You can do it in your own way, or you can follow the Zascha method (check out this blog). Now, you might be wondering about hairspray. Yes, you can definitely use it! When spraying your hair, make sure to hold the spray about 15 cm (6″) away from the weft to avoid creating stiff sections in the curl. Girl, you’re ready! Whether it’s a day of hard work at the office or a night of clubbing and pub-hopping with your besties, you’re ready to leave and turn heads 😉

The Zascha Hair Clip-in Bun

We have another very exciting exclusive product! The Zascha Hair Clip in Bun! But don’t be misled by its name, because there’s something else this bun is very suitable for. Keep reading and find out!

A full bun in no time.

The Zascha Hair clip-in Bun consists of 100% human hair, 3 bobby pins, a drawcord, and lace. These are all the ingredients you need to make a beautiful, full, but above all, firm bun. The bun is well suited for thin and/or short hair. Your own hair should be long enough to create a good ponytail or bun. If you have previously purchased Zascha Hair extensions, you will notice that the hair on the bun feels a little stiffer. There’s no need to worry, we have pre-treated the hair to make sure your bun is always prepped and ready to be styled. We also provide 3 sturdy bobby pins with the bun for free, which you can use to create a bun to your liking.

How do I place the bun?

Just like with the other extensions, it is important that you have enough grip at the roots of your hair.

  1. Before making a bun with your own hair at the desired spot, apply some volumizing powder or dry shampoo at the roots of your hair.
  2. Next, make a firm bun of your own hair or a ponytail if your hair isn’t long enough. It’s best to use 2 elastics for extra firmness.
  3. Slide the first pin of the bun in your hair between the elastic and your scalp. If you have thicker hair, you can also slide in the other pins.
  4. Pull the cord tightly, and if necessary, slide in the other pins.
  5. Style or curl the bun as desired and secure it with bobby pins OR leave the hair down and wear it as a full ponytail (BONUS!!)
  6. Style the rest of your hair as desired, spray some hairspray and girl… you are ready to rumble!

Taking care of the clip-in Bun.

Because the hair of the Clip-in Bun is 100% human hair, you can consider it as your own hair. The more you wash and style it, the more the quality will decrease. Therefore, it is important to take good care of the bun. We recommend using a heat protector before styling and curling. We are huge fans of the Dry Oil Mist. This is a heat protector and a hair care product in one. Do not use too much, as the hair may become too silky, making it difficult to style. Are you curious about how to best wash the bun? Read more about it in our wash blog!

Choose your color

We carry the bun in all the colors from our assortment, including mixed colors. This is very convenient because it allows the bun to blend quickly and seamlessly with your own hair. When choosing the right color, it’s important to ensure that the bun matches the placement you have in mind. If you plan to wear it high, it’s best to look at the color of your roots. If you’re not sure which color is the perfect match for you, you can always ask for our help.
