On a daily basis this temple attracts 50.000-100.00 visitors, including thousands of women who donate their hair. The temples sell this hair to hair extension manufacturers.

The temple spends the profits earned with the hair on its maintenance, but also on local projects such as the construction of local hospitals and schools.
