Longer daylight, warm days, and salty hair! Doesn't that sound like a dream? Absolutely! And with beautiful hair and a load of self-confidence, you never know what the summer will bring. In this blog, we'll discuss how to keep your extensions beautiful, even during the scorching summer days. So, hopefully, you're comfortable and enjoying a cold piña colada, because I'm sure you'll be very happy once you've read this blog!

Tip 1: Do you get hot quickly? Then putting your hair up is a good option!
Another good tip for putting your hair up: when you go swimming with your clip-in extensions. Try to prevent your clip-ins from getting wet as much as possible if you can. It can shorten the lifespan of your extensions if you don't care for them properly afterward, and this is, of course, a shame for your valuable purchase!
Tip 2: To enjoy your clip-in extensions for as long as possible, we recommend washing/wetting clip-in extensions as little as possible. This way, you'll enjoy them for as long as possible. Do you really not want to be without your clip-in extensions? Then make sure your extensions are tied up, and that you rinse them immediately with clean water if they get wet.
'But what about weaves? I have those permanently in?'
Weaves are of a different quality than clip-in extensions and can withstand more. However, we also recommend being as careful as possible with them. You can swim with them in saltwater. Also, preferably tied up, and rinse immediately with clean water after swimming.
And swimming in chlorine with your extensions?
Tip 3: Avoid chlorinated water. Both with your weaves and clip-ins. How many blondes have had their hair turn green from chlorine? Go ahead and raise your hand, we won't tell anyone. Been there, done that, haha!
How do I best treat my extensions then?
It is very important that you wash your extensions well after swimming. Tip 4: Rinse the hair thoroughly with water from root to tip. Use a good nourishing shampoo and conditioner. Apply the shampoo to all wefts, and gently massage it in. Then rinse the shampoo out well, and apply the conditioner, repeating this technique. For extra good care, we recommend using a nourishing mask once a week and leaving it on for 10 minutes. Are you curious about which products we recommend, and how to wash your clip-ins? Read about it in our blog!

Tip 5: Keep in mind that your extensions are made of 100% human hair and are therefore just as fragile as your own hair!
When the hair is wet, we recommend patting it dry instead of rubbing, and air-drying it instead of blow-drying.
Extensions and sunscreen.
Watch out! Extensions can discolour when they come into contact with skin SPF. Super annoying, of course, because good sun protection is indispensable! The following substances in sunscreen are the culprits: Octocrylene, Oxybenzone and last but not least, Avobenzone.
If you see one of these ingredients on your sunscreen bottle, you might want to look for something else. Mineral sunscreen is the best option, for example from Dr. Leenarts and Naif. Mineral filters protect your skin against UV radiation by absorbing the radiation through natural filters such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. Have your extensions accidentally turned orange? Brief summary
We strongly advise against swimming with your clip-in extensions. Swimming with Zascha weaves is possible, although we don't recommend it either. If you do, make sure to take good care of them, and ensure your hair does not come into contact with the wrong sunscreen🌞
