From short to long hair whenever you want!
Have you just ordered a beautiful set of clip-in hair extensions or do you already have them and can't wait to put them in? In this blog with a video, we'll show you step-by-step how to easily get full and long hair in just a few minutes. This will be especially helpful if you're putting in your clip-ins for the first time! With clip-in hair extensions, you don't have to choose between short or long hair. You can easily clip your long locks in and out. How ideal is that?
Brush your own hair and section it.
Start by thoroughly brushing your own hair with a soft brush. Preferably use a TangleTeezer®, this brush, used by professionals, can be used on both dry and wet hair and prevents hair breakage. Then, create a straight horizontal parting at the nape of your neck and secure the rest of your hair with a hair clip. You can do this with our Zascha Croc Clips.
“For extra hold, you can backcomb the hair at the roots…”
For extra strength, you can backcomb the hair at the roots and spray some hairspray on it. This is not always necessary, but it can provide a little more hold for smoother/finer hair. Use a backcombing brush for backcombing.
Start with the 3 clip slots.
Now take the weft with 3 clips. Brush it thoroughly before placing it in your hair. Start gently at the ends and work carefully upwards. Carefully untangle any knots with your fingers. Then find the middle of your hair and clip the middle clip into the root of your hair.
"Make sure you clip as close to the base as possible so it's good and secure."
Make sure to clip as close to the root as possible so it is securely fastened. Then, clip the left and right sides firmly. Do the other wefts in exactly the same way. Make a new horizontal parting just above the first clipped weft and clip in the second 3-clip weft.
Attach the 4 clips and optionally 5 clips track
Make a part from ear to ear directly above your second clipped weft and secure the rest of your hair with a hair clip. The set contains one 4-clip weft, 20cm wide. You place this at the base of your parting. Do you have a set for thick hair? Then you'll have an extra 25cm weft!
"Position the broader track well below your crown"
In that case, make a horizontal parting about 5cm below the crown of your head and tie up the rest of your hair again. Take the 5-clip weft of 25cm and clip it in as you did with the previous wefts. Now all the large wefts are clipped into the back of your head and only the narrow ones are left.
Insert the narrow 2- and 1-clip tracks.
The set includes two 2-clip tracks and two 1-clip tracks. These narrow tracks add volume to the sides and ensure everything blends in beautifully. On the side of your head, about 2cm above your ear, make a horizontal parting and secure the rest of your hair with a hair clip. Take the 2-clip track and clip it in.
“These narrow lanes add volume to the sides and ensure that everything blends together nicely.”
And you're all set!
“…Once you've got the hang of it, you'll be done in a few minutes!…”
Remember that the first few times (like anything else) it takes practice to quickly put in your clip-ins. If you have some spare time, sit in front of a mirror and get familiar with the process. Once you've got the hang of it, you'll be done in just a few minutes! For the hardworking ladies who don't have time to read this entire blog or for the ladies who do have time but just don't feel like it, no one is judging you, we have made a special "How to: Install your clip-in hair extensions" video. Sit back, relax, and learn.
