[How to] Washing clip-in hair extensions with purple shampoo

Finding the perfect color clip-in hair extensions that exactly match your own (dyed) blonde hair can be quite a challenge. Do you have a cool tone yourself and are your extensions a bit too warm in color or do they have a yellow tinge? Don’t worry, you can make our blonde 100% Indian human hair extensions as cool as your own hair color. Curious how? With these 5 steps, you can tone them quickly and easily with silver shampoo!

From warm to cool. You can easily tone them with silver shampoo (a must-have for cool blondes!), but you need to know how. We’ll show you step-by-step how to give your blonde hair extensions that beautiful ash blonde color. In preparation, comb your extensions to prevent tangles and gather your supplies by the sink: a brush or comb, towel, silver shampoo, and conditioner or hair rinse. Here we go:

1. Prepare a bath with silver shampoo

Fill your sink with lukewarm water, add a strand of silver shampoo, and mix it with the water until there are no more clumps floating in the purple-blue bath.

2. Let's tone blonde, girl

Then the real work begins. Take one strip of extensions and quickly and carefully pass it through the bath a few times. You'll immediately see them change color and lighten. Evaluate this one well before toning the entire set of extensions.

Are you unsure if it's ash enough? Then it's better to let the extensions dry first to assess if the color is right. It's much easier to make the color more ash than the other way around. Unless you're going for the Smurf look 😉

Note! Don't leave your extensions in the silver shampoo bath for too long. They can turn grey/blue. So, too short is better than too long. In doubt? Dry them first to see the result.

Do you have a really light-colored set? (Melted Blonde, Silver Grey, Rooted Misty Morning, Pearl Blonde, or Light Blonde) then pay close attention to the fact that these colors can quickly turn blue. For these colors, it is especially important that the water is really warm instead of lukewarm, and that all shampoo strands are dissolved. If this is not the case, spots and inconsistencies can occur in the set.

• Satisfied with the result? Then you can proceed with the next strip. Maintain the same rhythm (if you pass them through the bath a few times quickly, do that again).
• Want to see the exact difference before and after toning? Then don't wash one strip.

3. Rinse and wring!

Once the extension has bathed enough, rinse it with cold water to ensure all the shampoo is out. Gently wring the set and set it aside. Tone all extensions one by one this way. Try to avoid tangling them as much as possible.

4. Apply conditioner and rinse

All strips toned? Then use a nourishing conditioner and let it sit for a while. Afterward, rinse them again with cold water.

5. Natural drying

Lay the extensions out on a towel. To prevent frizz or damage, it's better not to blow-dry or style the extensions. All you need now is a little patience for that beautiful fresh result. And voilà, after a few hours of drying, you'll have gorgeous ash blonde locks! Pretty cool, right? 🙂

No Orange & No Yellow.

If your extensions or your own hair have become slightly warmer due to use, and you want to refresh the color, you can use a No Orange line (against red and orange tones) or a No Yellow line (against yellow tones). The No Yellow shampoo is the silver shampoo. We recommend using both the No Yellow and No Orange shampoos in the same way to prevent color bleeding.
